Monte Cristo Sandwich

A 15 minute meal

This meal is perfect for those busy holiday nights.
When you’ve been having fun in the kitchen, or about to go out to see lights.
A ham and swiss sandwich lightly dipped in egg batter and cooked on the griddle.
It is cheesy, salty and sweet, the perfect balance.
I serve these for lunch or dinner with a side of fruit or salad, and my kids always love it because it’s dusted in powdered sugar.


  • 2 pieces of bread
  • 2 slices of ham
  • 1 slice of Swiss cheese
  • Mustard
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon of cream
  • A pinch of salt


Make a sandwich by taking the two pieces of bread and putting mustard on one side add the two pieces of ham and cheese.
Create an egg mixture by mixing together the egg, cream, and salt.
Take the sandwich and lightly dip it in the egg mixture and cook on a griddle set to 350℉.
Lightly dust with powdered sugar and add a dollop of raspberry jam.
