Creepy Black & White Skull Cookies

Makes 3 dozen cookies

Vanilla Dough

Ingredients


  • 2 cups flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 8 tablespoons/1 stick softened salted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions


  1. Mix first three ingredients with wisk
  2. Beat butter and sugar
  3. 3-4 minutes until fluffy
  4. Beat in eggs and vanilla
  5. On low speed mix in flour just until incorporated
  6. Form into log two inches in diameter
  7. Wrap in plastic wrap
  8. Refrigerate for two hours

Chocolate Dough

Ingredients


  • 1 cup flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt
  • 8 tablespoons/1 stick softened unsalted butter
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions


  1. Mix first five ingredients with wisk
  2. Beat butter and sugars until creamy
  3. Add egg and vanilla
  4. Mix in dry ingredients just until incorporated
  5. Form into two inch logs
  6. Wrap in plastic wrap
  7. Refrigerate for two hours

Final process on vanilla dough


  1. Poke eyes with wooden spoon
  2. Poke nose with skewer
  3. Shape mouth with knife
  4. Cut into ⅛ in slices

Final process on chocolate dough


  1. Cut into ⅛ in slices

Assembly


  1. Put vanilla dough on top of chocolate dough on cookie sheet
  2. Bake at 350℉ for 12 minutes in bottom and top parts of the oven rotating the cookies halfway through baking
