Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts

These are so addicting.
Crunchy bacon wrapped around a water chestnut with brown sugar glaze.
These are always the first thing to be eaten at my parties.
They are delightful little crunchy bites that are salty and sweet.
And they are so easy to make.

Ingredients

Instructions

Take your sleeve bacon and slice it into three sections crosswise so that you create three equal sections of bacon.
Take a slice of bacon and place a water chestnut in the center of it.
Wrap the water chestnut around the bacon overlapping the two ends.
Take your toothpick and press it through the center of your bacon wrapped water chestnut being sure to secure the two ends of the bacon.
Repeat with all of the bacon and water chestnuts.
Set it on an ungreased baking sheet.

Take your ketchup and brown sugar and mix it in a bowl.
Using a pastry brush, brush the sauce onto your bacon wrapped water chestnuts.
At this point you can either cover it and set it in the fridge for later or you can put it in the oven.
Bake at 375℉ for 25 mins or until your bacon is crisp.
This recipe can be made a day ahead and kept in the fridge covered.
